The SI Mediterranean Committee met in Paris on 6 November 1999, in advance of the XXI Congress of the International, chaired by Raimon Obiols, Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) and Chair of the Committee.
Participants gathered to discuss the central issues concerning the region and prepared a section on the Mediterranean of the General Resolution, which was subsequently adopted by the Congress.
